Nearby Attractions & Where to Eat

One of the real pleasures of staying at Turners Folly Field is how much there is to enjoy right on your doorstep — if you don't fancy driving, there is still plenty to see and do, no car keys required.

Plenty to do a Walk Away

The nearby villages of Ash, Staple, and Barnsole are all easily reached on foot via a network of public footpaths that wind gently through open countryside. These relaxed walks are perfect for stretching your legs, soaking up the views, and slowing the pace a little.

The walk to Ash is a particular favourite, following an old railway cutting where the tracks were removed many years ago. Today, it’s a peaceful, level route with plenty of character — a lovely reminder of the area’s history and a great way to enjoy the landscape at an unhurried pace.

Places to Eat & See Close By

Whether you’re heading out for a meal, a drink, or simply exploring what’s nearby, everything feels refreshingly close. It’s all part of the charm of staying here: simple pleasures, scenic walks, and the freedom to wander straight from your pitch into the heart of the countryside.

Firm guest favourites are The Black Pig at Staple for food & drink and Barnsole Vineyard for superb wine tasting. Check out our other recommendations below.
